In groep vier maakte ik een klein boekje voor de juffrouw met de titel ‘Griezels’, het begin van mijn schrijfcarrière?

En nu? Nu schrijf ik voor meedere websites. Ik hou ervan, het overbrengen van gedachten door middel van papier, iets blijvends. Enthousiast zijn zonder geluid en gezicht. Heerlijk.

Waar ik schrijf

• Mijn blog, StudySuccessful. Dit is mijn eigen toffe project, mijn baby. Het startte allemaal in 2008 als ‘TheDutchSchoolKid’ en in mei 2009 besloot ik over te stappen op een eigen domeinnaam en betaalde hostingservice. De site gaat over studeren, studentenleven en persoonlijke ontwikkeling. En dat allemaal in het Engels dan ook nog. De artikelen op de site zijn dan ook zeer afwisselend! Van ‘5 things we can learn from the awesome Barney Stinson‘ en ‘22 reasons to start a blog as a student‘ tot meer diepgaande artikelen als ‘Multitasking verses Hard Focus (or Productivity versus Comfort?)‘ of ‘Why do we want the gift called productivity?‘ Inmiddels meer dan 5000 bezoekers per maand, ik word ook steeds trotser.
• Lifehacking.nl. De enige Nederlandse site waar ik voor schrijf. Met Nederlands als moedertaal is dit ook wel lekker af en toe. Lifehacking.nl is een site over ‘slimmer werken, slimmer leven’, kleine snelle trucjes (hacks) om iets sneller of makkelijker te doen dan de gemiddelde mens. Een geweldige community eromheen, die gemotiveerd is en enthousiast. Artikelen als ‘De gevaren van Gratis‘ en ‘Powernappen, waarom en hoe?‘ komen bij mij vandaan.
• InfoBarrel.com. Een revenue-sharing site. Ik schrijf artikelen gericht op Google en krijg 75% van de advertentie inkomsten. Hier heb ik inmiddels een grote bibliotheek aan artikelen opgebouwd!
• STRAXstuderen.nl. Een website gericht op scholieren die naar de universiteit willen. Hier staan (korte) artikelen van mij in over studeren en het hele leven eromheen!
• LostInTechnology.com. Een website over technologie, veel verschillende artikelen, voornamelijk uitleg, how-to’s en lijstjes.

In fourth grade, I made a little book called ‘Griezels’, which is Dutch for ‘Monsters’ for my teacher. Was that the beginning of my writing carreer? Perhaps.

Anyway, I write now for several websites. Love to write, bringing thoughts through words, being enthusiastic without a voice and a face.

Where I write

• The blog, StudySuccessful. This is my little project. Started as DutchSchoolKid, in May 2009 I decided to switch to a paying hosting service. It is about college, studying and personal development. The articles are pretty different. They vary from ‘5 things we can learn from the awesome Barney Stinson‘ and ‘22 reasons to start a blog as a student‘ to more in depth content like ‘Multi-tasking versus Hard Focus (or Productivity versus Comfort?)‘ or ‘Why do we want the gift called productivity?‘. I consider this as my little baby, love to see it grow!
• Lifehacking.nl. The only Dutch site I write for! As a native Dutch speaker, I like to write in Dutch also. Lifehacking.nl is the Dutch version of Lifehacker, and it shares awesome ideas. The community around it is also great, motivating and enthusiastic! Example posts: ‘De gevaren van Gratis‘, ‘6 tips voor het voorkomen van een gestolen fiets‘ and ‘10 beste evernote hacks‘
• LostInTechnology.com. A website about technology and everything which comes with it! Just tech tips, how-to’s and list posts about technology, definitely worth checking out if you look for anything tech-wise.
